We went to Voza due to proximity and vibe. Upon walking in, were immediately enamored of its charm, unpretentiousness and inviting warmth. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and part of the experience. We were waited on by the owner/chef, and his love and passion is evident through everything from his service at the tables to his artistry in the kitchen.
The menu is not at all cloying or self conscious, yet manifests a mastery and creativity through everything we tasted. Everything is cooked to perfection - from the 'al dente' pasta and green beans to the couscous that is the best we've ever had anywhere in the world (including among that I've had in Tunisia and all over the Middle East!). Voza will be a regular stop for us from now on without a doubt. It's one of those places that s a dilemma: I want to share its riches with everybody, yet I want it to remain a well kept secret so I can not worry about not getting in. So I will, and hope you will, too, only share it with the most deserving and discerning of friends. It is also perhaps the most romantic dining experience you may ever enjoy in NY.
