Virtual Tourist, Best Hole in the Wall Restaurant Suberb Service Sep 23, 2008 http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/ec09d/cd624/2/
This was a fantastic little French/Italian restaurant. When I say "little" I am not exaggerating. When I walked in, I was shocked by the size of this restaurant, in fact, I was a little hesitant - I mean, was this for real? How could we have a pleasant dinner in there? boy was I wrong.
A few minutes after settling and absorbing the ambiance, I realized this place was actually fantastically cozy and comfortable. But most of all it was personable - it felt like an extension of a friend's dinning room. The chef was right there the whole time, he came by and walked us through the menu. Then, he sat with us at our table and hung out with us a little while. I did feel sorry for the two sous chefs - the kitchen was really tight. But maybe this lack of space was conducive to synergy in the food, because every single dish was delicious. So although the place was really small (8 or so small tables inside), they made up for it with incredible personal service. Favorite Dish: I loved the dessert flambe! The chef came by and made it for us personally. Watch out for the flames! |
