Alex K. Brooklyn, NY 4 star rating 7/28/2008 I feel compelled to make people aware of this place after having eaten dinner there earlier today. The service is very personal - the chef himself comes up and tells you the specials of the day, and because it's so small, your water glass gets refilled nearly instantaneously. Now, because of its size, be warned: the wait time is a tad long, but let me assure you, it's worth it. Especially because the prices are so reasonable compared to restaurants of comparable quality. Highly recommended: the free bread. I think they made it fresh every ten minutes. It was awesome. I told them to not bring us any more bread until the entrees showed up because we would emphatically devour the bread right as it'd be set down. I had a special appetizer - foie gras pate, which was so good that I was speechless for thirty seconds after trying it. And the rack of lamb (I had it medium-rare) was very good. I had it with the garlic mashed potatoes and corn and couldn't be happier. I bet that the reason the wait time to get the food is so long is they wait for you to order it before even starting make it, unlike lots of places where it's just sitting in a pot ready to be thrown on a plate. i think freshly cooked food is worth it, you know? I think I'll leave it at this: when it came time to give in the plates, all but one were nearly clean already from the concerted effort my table-mates and I put into finishing every last morsel. I'm starting to think you can't go wrong in this place. And the cozy atmosphere was so memorable. I can speak no ill of this place.
