Okay, first off, the staff are awesome and invited us to their expansion party when the construction is finished. Anyone who invites me to a party is okay in my book.
Second, they offered to let us taste the two types of wine we were debating over and gave us some bread and water to wash out the taste of the first one in preparation for tasting the second one. Someone who knows their wine tasting...excellent.
Any place where the same dude who cooks and serves the food sits down and explains the specials to you in a very laid-back manner is absolutely fabulous in my book. Add on the free dessert that was not on the menu that he sent our way after we'd paid the bill, and this a 5-star place. Hands down.
This place is *small*. There are less than 10 tables and the ambiance is very rustic and romantic. It looks like there's outdoor seating, and I now know that if I cannot find my girlfriend at home, she'll be around the corner at Voza. The food is DELICIOUS, and I loved the fact that I could watch them making our dinner while enjoying a bottle of wine. They serve you unlimited bread with a delicious sauce to dip it in to start out with, and both the filet mignon that my girlfriend had and the boneless chicken that I had were just amazing. They practically melted in your mouth.
Finally, the price = not bad at all. We had a bottle of wine, an appetizer, and two of the special entrees, and it came out to $100. Obviously not cheap, but definitely not bad considering the kind of service we received. |
